The 3rd instalment of the Sustainable Finance Webinar Series in collaboration with World Bank and IBFIM was held on 14 September 2020 at 10 am. Moderated by AICB CEO Prasad Padmanaban, “Impact of COVID-19: Recovery and Sustainability”, brought together key speakers from various entities in banking and finance. The session began with opening remarks from Firas Raad, Country Manager for Malaysia at World Bank, after which Sadiq Currimbhoy, Head of Sustainability, Regional Head of Macro Research, Maybank Kim Eng, proceeded to set the context for the discussions. Panelists Rafiza Ghazali, Group Chief Executive Officer, Cradle Fund; Kevin Wong Weng Tuck, Principal Officer and Chief Investment Officer, AmIslamic Funds Management Sdn Bhd (AmInvest); and Nurbayu Kasim Chang, Vice President, Head of Enterprise Banking, SME Bank then shared their experiences in managing the challenges of business continuity following the outbreak and the methods that each have implemented in their respective organisations to maintain business as usual, while simultaneously furthering growth efforts. The webinar was attended by over 200 participants, who actively engaged with the speakers through the Q&A session and chats. A recording of the webinar was provided to all participants after the session.
