Accelerating Digital Workforce

The final installation of the five-part Digital Banking Series in collaboration with PwC Malaysia was held on 23 July 2020 at 10 am. Moderated by AICB CEO Prasad Padmanaban, “Accelerating Digital Workforce Transformation in Financial Services” focused on the importance of digitally enabling the banking workforce through reskilling and upskilling, and the adoption of new technologies to perform current and augmented roles. Providing good insights on the relevance of ‘New World, New Skills’, Lim Kwan-Sek, Director People and Organisation Consulting, PwC Malaysia, also highlighted the critical steps that banks can take to ensure effective upskilling and reskilling in a post-COVID-19 world. Sharing on the integrated employee experience was Jasmin Peters, Director Experience Consulting Lead, PwC Malaysia, who emphasised the need for trust and a human-centric approach in equipping the banking workforce of the future with diversity, innovation and agility. We also heard from Datuk Nora Manaf, CB, Group Chief Human Capital Officer, Maybank Group, who shared her deep industry perspective on building a digital workforce and the many initiatives by Maybank in this area, including the three-stage FutureReady programme to strengthen the digital literacy levels of staff. The webinar was attended by close to 300 participants, who actively engaged with the speakers through the Q&A session and chats. A recording of the webinar was provided to all participants after the session.
