Notification for the Pasaran Kewangan Malaysia Certificate (PKMC) Candidates on Change in Syllabus

Important Updates 

The Pasaran Kewangan Malaysia Certificate (PKMC) syllabus has been revised recently. The new syllabus will be assessed commencing July 2018 examinations.  The March 2018 examination session is the last session that assesses the existing syllabus.

Changes in the assessment structure are as follows:

Module Existing New
I
  • 80 multiple choice questions (MCQs)
  • 1 1/2 hours
  • 100 MCQs
  • 2 1/2 hours
II, III and IV For each module:

  • 40 MCQs and 3 short essay questions
  • 2 hours
For each module:

  • 60 independent MCQs and 20 case based MCQs
  • 2 1/2 hours
The passing mark remains at 75% for each module.  Results will be expressed in grade bands.

Due to the significant changes in the revised PKMC certification syllabus, transitional workshops have been planned for the relevant candidates.  The current PKMC candidates who have not completed the March 2018 examinations (i.e. re-sitting in July 2018 and beyond) must take note of the following:

  1. Module I
    1. Candidates who have not completed Module I are not required to attend the transitional workshop.
    2. Candidates are allowed to register for Module I examination in the next available sitting.
  2. Module II
    1. Candidates who have not completed Module II are required to attend the transitional workshop.
    2. Candidates who do not attend the transitional workshop are not allowed to register for examination sitting.
    3. Candidates who have attended the previously scheduled workshop, but have not registered for examination, are required to attend the transitional workshop.
    4. Candidates who are unable to attend the transitional workshop are required to attend the full four (4) day regular workshop.
  3. Module III
    1. Candidates who have not completed Module III are not required to attend the transitional workshop.
    2. Candidates are allowed to register for Module III examination in the next available sitting.
  4. Module IV
    1. Candidates who have not completed Module IV are required to attend the transitional workshop.
    2. Candidates who do not attend the transitional workshop are not allowed to register for examination sitting.
    3. Candidates who have attended the previously scheduled workshop, but have not registered for examination, are required to attend the transitional workshop.
    4. Candidates who are unable to attend the transitional workshop are required to attend the full four (4) day regular workshop.

Registration for March 2018 examination session

The deadline to register for the March 2018 examinations has been extended to 26 January 2018.
