AICB Intensive Examination Preparatory Programme: Chartered Banker Module 3 — Credit and Lending

AICB is offering an intensive examination preparatory programme virtually for the Credit and Lending Module to support members in completing the soon-to-be-phased-out Chartered Banker qualification by 31 July 2023. The programme aims to enhance the candidate’s knowledge and guide them on applying examination techniques and strategies to effectively prepare for the upcoming examination.

Paul CL Chan’s passion has always been helping people to develop their true potential, and during his training sessions, he always places great emphasis on individual and team coaching to ensure effective transfer of knowledge. He has vast industry experience accumulated over 18 years in financial institutions such as SCB, IBMB (Alliance Bank) and UOB Malaysia, with responsibilities in sales & marketing of consumer and commercial loans, banking payment operations, corporate customer service centre, human resources, and over nine years as a full-time credit trainer, soft-skill management trainer, and Head of Training. Before joining the financial industry, Paul was with FELCRA as a Marketing Officer for over four years. He lectured in higher institutions of learning for two years in marketing, management and accounting subjects.

While with UOB, Paul was the regional trainer for credit & marketing programmes for UOB Thailand and UOB Buana Indonesia. He conducted soft skills on NLP in communication skills for UOB Singapore, motivational talks at the sales convention for UOB Malaysia’s consumer & commercial division, and motivational speeches at UOB Buana’s sales convention. He was the mentor / coach / trainer for 13 batches of trainees under the Credit Management Trainee Program and Management Trainees and Management Associate & Sales Management Trainees Program. He is also a resource speaker for IBBM and a resource guest speaker for INTAN and KTAR.

Paul holds a BBA (Hons) and MBA (UM). He is a National Service Character Builder, an NLP Master Practitioner in NS-NLP, and has certifications in the following: HRDC Train The Trainer; MBTI, SHL & DISC profiling; Sales Trainer; CBTE Australia; Behavioural Event Interview; Time Line Therapy and Hypnosis; 7 Habits of Highly Effective People; People Development Training Modules and the Sales & Sales Coach programme.

Presently, Paul is an Associate Trainer under the Resource Trainer’s Pool for the Asian Banking School (PCC CCE Module 1–4, BCP Module 1–4, RCP Module 1–4), and does Compliance training for Citibank; Credit programmes for AmBank, HLBB, EXIM Bank, SME Bank, MBSB, and MIDF; and Retail Credit programmes for MBSB.

He also provides training on the Chartered Banker Level 1 & Level 2 Specialist Programme Credit on CCR, BBC & BRC for banks.

Terms & Conditions

  • Online payments will be processed in Ringgit Malaysia (RM).
  • Participation is secured upon receipt of full payment, which must be made by 26 May 2023. Fee is inclusive of 6% Service Tax.
  • Registrations are on a first-come, first-served basis and at the sole discretion of the Organiser.
  • All registrations are final and cancellations will not be allowed once payment is received. However, if the delegate is unable to attend, a request to transfer the seat to a different individual from the same organisation must be done via an email to [email protected] before 26 May 2023.
  • Refunds will not be given even if a delegate fails to attend the event.
  • The Organiser reserves the right to refuse the registration of a participant in the event that no payment has been made or the payment received (in Ringgit Malaysia) is less than the specified registration fee.
  • The Organiser reserves the right to make changes, including but not limited to, the venue, event date, programme agenda and / or speaker line up, or to cancel the event for any reason (including, without limitation, by reason of a Force Majeure event). The Organiser shall notify all parties of the cancellation as soon as possible.
