Digital Banking – Malaysian Banks at a Crossroads

03 Jun 2020 @ 10:00 am (+8 GMT)

2020 promises to be an important year for banking in Malaysia. In addition to the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, Bank Negara Malaysia recently released an exposure draft on the Licensing Framework for Digital Banks, which opens the door for technology players and other non-financial institutions to compete with traditional banks. Digital banks are an opportunity for disruption across the financial services sector, impacting both challenger and traditional banks.

“Digital Banking – Malaysian Banks at a Crossroads” will discuss strategies that financial institutions need to consider and adopt to stay relevant and compete in the banking and FinTech landscape. A panel of experts will share insights from their experience in setting up digital banks across the globe and explore the following topics:

  • Defining a digital banking strategy
  • An introduction to defining a customer value proposition
  • Partnerships between FinTech companies and existing banks to launch new products and innovative services
  • Should traditional players digitise their existing banking operations to stay ahead of the curve?
